Myositis Ossificans in Cord In jured Patient.


Abstract
Myositis ossificans in the cord injured patient has special interest from the view point of nature. Several authors had reported on the observation of the etiology, nature, and treatment. Myositisossificans consist of Haversian canal, osteoblast, blood vessel and edematous bone matrix and is due to mesencymal tissue.
Radiographically, ossification occured on condyle of the femur, but sometimes extending down to the joint capsule and up to the shaft of the femur. Spiral and network formation of many arteriole around ossification observed in angiogram.
Recently, 3 cases of myositis ossifcans of 32 paraplegics have been reported.
